Arkansas Grown Arkansas Farm to School Agritourism

Meet the Farmers

Dogwood Hills Guest Farm

We are a working farm that primarily offers farm stays, farm to table products, and hands-on experiences.

Join Ruth and Grace for daily chores on our family homestead farm: milk cows, collect fresh eggs from our hens, take an after breakfast hike with the goats, feed the animals, and even check in on newborn animal “babies” as they arrive. Animals on the farm include: cows, donkeys, goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, geese, and of course, dogs and cats. We are close to the Buffalo National River, where you can enjoy lots of off-farm activities.

All of our food is made fresh on the farm with local ingredients and made in a dedicated gluten free kitchen.

St. Joseph Farmstead

St Joseph was designed by renowned architect, Charles Thompson and completed in 1910. This beautiful 56,000 sq ft. historic building sits on 63 acres of land that has been farmed for more than a century.

It is on the National Register of Historic Places. St. Joseph’s is also a designated Arkansas Dept. of Agriculture Century Farm (established in 1907).

Over the years, St. Joseph’s served as an orphanage, school, nursing home, day care, and retreat center run by the Benedictine Sisters of St. Scholastica. St. Joseph Center is an independent non-profit organization with a mission to preserve and restore this historic property through sustainable farming and food production, programs that educate and promote agritourism, and support community outreach. Today, through the efforts of devoted volunteers, St. Joseph is a thriving, active place to learn, play, and grow!

St. Joseph offers the perfect blend of creativity for art, agriculture, and more. Come feel the palpable spirit that permeates this special place and join us in keeping it alive for another century!

Delta Dirt Distillery

Delta Dirt Distillery is a family-owned, craft distillery located in the richest farmland in the country – the Arkansas Delta. They grow their own produce and grains in the same community where these authentic spirits are distilled, which makes them unique in the American distilling industry. The Williams family have deep roots in Arkansas and have farmed their land in Phillips County for four generations.

“Papa” Joe Williams was the patriarch who sharecropped the original 86 acres in the late 1800s. His son U.D. Williams farmed that same stretch of land, but was able to do something rare and special – in 1949, he purchased the farm out of sharecropping with money earned from cotton and homemade moonshine. Yes, that’s right, corn-liquor moonshine. The next generation farmer was Harvey Sr., who inherited the difficult task of trying to make a living farming on relatively few acres. Options were limited, and tough decisions were required. He had to either acquire enough land to sustain row crop farming, give up – or diversify the operation. He chose the latter and reinvented the farm for vegetable production, mainly sweet potatoes. He later added squash to the lineup and shipped both into national distribution.

Urbana Farmstead

Urbana Farmstead is a sustainable urban farm.

Local Food – We offer a variety of seasonally fresh-from-the-field fruits, vegetables, herbs and artisan foods at our Farm Market.

People – We hold the utmost respect for all of the hands that grow, raise and produce our food; those who prepare each ingredient on your plate; those who serve and wash each dish; and for each person we serve.

Land and Water – Land and water are not a commodity. Caring for these precious resources is important to us. We avoid the use of dangerous herbicides and pesticides and we employ sustainable farming practices on our property with the intent to protect the soil for future generations.

Hospitality – We value each guest who walks through our door and strive to offer a wonderful experience for all with delicious food, a beautiful setting, and great service.
