Food Preservation

  • For ages 16+
  • Classes are on Sundays from 2 to 3:30pm
  • $35 per student or bring a friend for $60

Join us on Sundays for classes on food preservation using fresh produce from our farm! Participants will gain hands-on experience harvesting produce from our Teaching Garden and receive growing tips. We will then prepare a research-based recipe and learn to can using the water bath canning method. Every participant will get to take a jar home! 


We have classes on jam, pickles, salsa, hot sauce, and more! Class space is limited to please sign up at least 2 days in advance. See below for the list of classes we are currently offering, and head over to the Farm Stand website to sign up!

In Each Class We Will:

  • Harvest produce and learn tips to grow your own 
  • Prepare a research-based recipe together 
  • Learn to can using the water-bath canning method 
  • Sample a premade jar of what we are making

Each Participant Will Receive:

  • Your own jar of what we made to take home 
  • The recipe we used + an extra to try yourself
  • A list of resources and tips

  • July 2nd – Salsa

  • July 16th – Hot Sauce
  • July 30th – Dill Pickles
